Wow Pops Id love to see them.. Hank Trout launched my Boxing career by hosting the Folsom Fights in his basement gym. 18 guys from all over came, even UK. He writes alot ..check out his FB page.
Forty years ago, Drummer made me believe there was a place I could fit in the gay community. They published several special editions of a magazine they called Powerplay, one featuring boxing, fighting, etc. I still have it.
Drummer magazine introduced me to a world that I thought I was the only inhabitant. It was great to finally know I was not alone in my bondage and s/m interests. Drummer showed me the world of rough wrestling and fighting I had the honor or meeting Hank Trout several times. A man who had dedicated space in his homes for fights and a trunk full of gear. It was Hank that encouraged me to purchase a pair of real pro wrestling boots. He wanted a fight in our boots. I still use some of the Drummer stories as material to encourage release. I miss it.
I read my first erotic wrestling stories in Drummer, and I was hooked! They were both written by Hank Trout. Never had the chance to meet him, but struck up a good old-fashioned correspondence. Leather and wrestling! A perfect match!
That was the first place I encounter the Fight Connection.. it was an ad that said " WANNA FIGHT?" It was paper list that you paid $10 for and gave you names addresses of guys around the country that boxed fist fought or wrestled rough. And, I still know/fought most of those guys.. Drummer was also a great source of kink for me..
Anyone else old enough to remember Drummer Magazine? They used to have an annual "Mr. Drummer" contest. Part of the contest was a wrestling tournament, that by all accounts was pretty wild. At the time I was too young to go to California on my own. Wish I had been there.
