I would agree with being honest & clear about what you want. No one has to reply to you, but some acknowledgement is appreciated.
In my recent experience, I've put lots of messages out & only a small percentage come to anything. When they do though, they are good meets.
Boxing certainly feels at times like the poor relation here to wrestling, finding people happy to box, even sparring can be a challenge. Plus life is busy & a lot of people on this site see boxing as a hobby. Which is also fine. Be honest & be patient.
Hi together
I am here since more than 5 1/2 years, but found about only about 3 opponents directly by meetfighters.
I several times changed my text in my profile, but have no reaction.
What are Your expierences here?
Been at this, off and on, for about 20 years. In the early days met a bunch of people from various sites (Globalfight/Vangar, the old AOL chatrooms and yahoo groups, Recon, Fetlife, GnG etc.), but also my tastes have gotten rougher and skill level higher since I first started so that will affect things.
In terms of layout, function, and the number of members this seems like the best single site at the moment, but I have not met anyone directly because of this site. Some were guys I met on other sites who happen to be on this one now, or who I met back in the day who I haven't seen online in years and no idea if they are still active.
I think a huge percentage of it is based on where you live and what you are looking for, moreso than anything with the site. If you are in a major metro area and just looking for wrestling or something sexual you probably have a lot of options, if you are looking for something really rough and competitive your options will be very limited, and if you are in a very rural or limited population area (especially if you are waiting for everyone to come to you) your options will never be great.
Personally I try and be very direct and specific about what I want and don't want (hoping that will weed out the good from the bad), but the vast majority of messages I get are from guys nowhere near my stats or location (and often not even into the same styles) who are only interested in pictures/visuals and or who want to ask endless one-sided questions and be provided with turn-on talk to help excite them, but really have no intention of making any actual fight happen in reality (even if they claim they do).
So I spend a disproportionate amount of time weeding though messages from the exact type of people I DON'T want them from, just in the slim odds I can find someone who is really interesting (and when I do they tend to live very far away). Sometimes it feels like hunting for a unicorn, but it's really the best way to find what I actually want so I just deal with reality as it is. So the functionality of the site is good, even if the administration of it sometimes leaves something to be desired, and it seems to be the best option.... but the results will be mixed based on what options are out there and how direct and honest people are being, which the site has no control over.

This response is on the mark and couldn't agree more.
