great mat area, How do you get the oil off them ?

Most guys I know (and myself) cover the mats with inexpensive plastic tarps available at most hardware and bldg. supply stores; or (to save $$$) go to a large bldg. supply store and buy rolls of 6 mil or thicker plastic– such as the 20 X 100 ft rolls or more–and cut off what's needed to protect the mats and surrounding. Both means are for a one-time use.

If somehow any oil does get on the mats, use what the new stories show as being used to clean oil spills off ducks and other wildlife – Dawn detergent --- the original plain (unscented) version. Probably some other brands a good; but I've never seen others used in those stories–so maybe Dawn does the cleanup and least likely to have some adverse impact on the poor critters..

also use plastic to protect a path from the mats to a bathroom so guys can clean up---again using DAWN dish detergent.

Anyone in or visiting DC area (Arlington VA) up for oil? Warm weather is coming; space which can be made private in the backyard; let's do some oil. One on one with me – or a group where everyone is rasslin' everyone else in a "pigpile."

So far, no takers. Kinda think those two guys a month ago were an exception; and that there is no oil wrestling scene here in the DC area. Was looking into vendors of the attire for Turkish Oil Wrestling; and had no results, so maybe oil wrestling, in general, is not that vibrant a scene anywhere in the USA. If it were, I would think it would show up in our search engines. I'll just law low on this thread rather than clutter it up further, if it simply isn't there.

Waiting for some prospective action to incent me to finish getting the rest of the back yard ready. As hot as the sunshine is getting, I should order WHITE tarps to put atop any mats I lay down – or limit invites to lower-sun-angle times. Best for more than one or two to host, as the prep time would be the same whether its one or six.

Let's try to get the list populated by more genuine oil wrestling men. If yur in the Wash DC - Northern Virginia area, I'd more than willing to host a few guys (in this Meetfighters group) in the back yard one afternoon next week for some oil wrestling. If it's fair weather, we carry the mats outside, cover with a tarp, pull the "yard drapes" closed for privacy to rassle in oil. Don't want my olive oil to go rancid from too long a spell of nonuse. Dawn detergent to clean it off afterwards–just like they use it for those ducks caught up in oil spills. Might be a bit cool rinsing off as the garden hose connects only to cold water – but REAL MEN wouldn't be afraid of a bit of cold water.

A quick glance at the member list for this group suggest only about a dozen guys within 100 miles of me, reduced further by a some who refuse to wrestle me, means damn little chance of getting any kind of a group together, maybe not even one or two.

Sure thing. The two of you would be very welcome. You are so far away, might want to think of staying overnight for a couple days of wrestling oil and otherwise wrestling. Reckon enough old clothes here for a rip wrestling as well. Usually around here in Arlington so the invite is rather open timewise.

Based on WX forecasts, the soonest it could be rain free is Sunday, then s'posed to be nice for a few days (forecasts subject to change by NWS up to for times a day). My rule for anything I host is that everyone must be willing to engage (wrestle) with all other present. Nobody gets left out.

My idea of a fun oil scene would be (on a nice-weather day), haul all the floor and wall mats outside for a 20 x 20 ft area, cover them with a tarp, and get a half-dozen or so men for a real pig-pile oil wrestling scenario. Tarps hanging from cables surrounding it, to avoid prying neighborly eyes.. But I wouldn't turn down a 1 on 1 indoor encounter either, as I'd rather use that olive oil for rasslin' rather than for cookin' But history has taught me that much of 'oil-wrestling talk' is mostly just talk without either the oil or even the wrestling

I'd be UP for a group oil wrestle. Slap on the oil and take down the opponents.

Do it in the back yard on 20 x 20 mat space. Grab your pardner and bring him along; and see if we can find anyone else to make it a hexsome or an octsome pigpile thing. Reckon, tho, it would end up with 6 or 8 piled in a 4 x 6 space.

But looking at the member list for this group, it only has about ten entries including part-time or once-a-year visitors to the DC area, meaning the pickins are slim. Maybe as slim as trying to find guys in the leather crowd willing to wrestle (with or without oil).

Love group matches and oil just makes it hotter!

I've had two for oil wrestling – far cry from non-oil. But the lack of opponents is because guys into oil are few and far between. I've had oil in my profile since day one on the site; and the oil a few weeks ago was the first opportunity presented to me. Washington DC is hardly Turkey . If anyone in the DC area is reading this, how 'bout getting yur butt over my way for some oil work.

In response to Lets Rassle---One thing you can rest assured about is that I have never turned down an offer by anyone willing to come here to wrestle me – be it without oil, or the very rare with oil. If yur for real in wanting to wrestle (or similar combative sport), clean, sober, and don't hand me crap, you don't have to worry about me kicking your ass out the door.

I never try to be. Sometime what I write gets misinterpreted. Somebody would have to get durned 'jerky' with me before I even retaliate. In person, when we talk, there are intonations, body movements, all kinds of cues to temper what is being said – which cannot be conveyed in text only. It's akin to trying to fathom a 3-D reality by looking at a 2-D picture or maybe even a
1-D straight line. Of course, I want you as a friend.

That's better. I was in the backyard today, making sure the cables, casters, and tarps for privacy in the back yard are functioning, just in case tomorrow's for-guy wrestling get together decides to move to the back yard. It'll be fully in gear for outdoor oil wrestling, rep wrestling, judo, mma, whatever anytime; and secure enough for buck naked playing before month's end
